Wednesday, January 18th, 2006Designing a Corporate Intranet from Scratch
Tuesday, January 17th, 2006Just a teaser for what you’ve got to look forward to here. Over the next few weeks and months I’m going to be part of a group charged with redesigning our corporate intranet. This project has the added complication of merging two company’s information into a coherent whole.
I expect information architecture, usability and accessibility to play a key role in such a major overhaul and look forward to working from the ground up in cycles of review, design and test. I’ll be covering my progress here.

Both papers are equally readable and, I suppose, politically agreeable, but following our move to a new flat I’ve been reassessing a lot of my everyday decisions from an environmentally-aware viewpoint. The new Indy is smaller, smaller means less paper, less paper means fewer trees chopped down and less waste.

Monday, January 9th, 2006Upgrade to Movable Type 3.2
Wednesday, January 4th, 2006I just upgraded Movable Type, the software that runs this website, to version 3.2. It all went quite smoothly and everything seems to be running as expected. I also took the time to finish off a few bits of the design.
And now that’s done I’ll summarise here, for my own records if nothing else, how my site works:
