Facts and opinion from the life and work of Paul Carvill, Web Designer, UK

Some very exciting news - I have a new job! In a couple of weeks I start work with UpMyStreet.com.
UpMyStreet.com lets you search and compare information localized to specific postcodes, towns or other geographic regions. They can help you choose new places to live, save time and money in and around your home, and find local shops and services. Most importantly they are independent and impartial, which means they don't artificially weight search results or give priority for payola.
They mine huge amounts of data in order to provide comprehensive coverage of a locality. Such an amount of data must be immaculately communicated to fully realise its potential, which is where I come in. I will be responsible for all front-end interface development for UpMyStreet.com and their associated websites. I also get to work with teams throughout the company to capture interface requirements and develop new products within the UpMyStreet brand.
When discussing the position with the team at UpMyStreet, it was apparent that as individuals and as a company they are fully committed to building accessible standards-based interfaces.
This is a really exciting move for me and I can't wait to get stuck in as soon as possible.
Fantastic and congratulations. You sound really excited about starting. It really does sound up your street - pardon the pun. Look forward to hearing more.
See you in a couple of weeks.
Love Mum xxxxx
